Love at first write – but there’s no sign of an end to Kim’s nuclear arsenal

-

PRESIDENT Trump’s special relationship with North Korea scaled new heights when he declared the two leaders met and “fell in love”.

While speaking at a rally for Senate candidate and state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey in West Virginia, the President spoke about his dealings with Kim Jong-un.

“I was really being tough and so was he,” he said. “And we would go back and forth. And then we fell in love. No, really. He

wrote me beautiful letters.”

“They were great letters. And then we fell in love.”

Trump singled out Kim at the UN General Assembly last week, saying he was proud of his courage.

“I would like to thank Chairman Kim for his courage and for the steps he has taken, though much work remains to be done,” he said.

Trump’s glowing praise for Kim came just hours after North Korea said it would not denuclearise fully unless America offered concessions.

Despite the warmer tone to the relationship, North Korea has not complied with American demands to provide a complete inventory of its weapons programs and take irreversible steps to give up its arsenal.

It is clear Trump’s view of a country all boils down to one thing – Does their leader like me?

Only he could fall in love with and praise one of the world’s worst dictators.
