Rainy Days? No, Sports Days!

-

ALTHOUGH PLANS for last year’s sports day had to be changed at the last minute, due to some very rainy weather, it couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of our young athletes who still managed to enjoy some summer sports. The competition grew fierce as students pitched themselves against one another in a series of events designed to test their sporting stamina. From the egg and spoon race to relay racing, bean bag throwing and space hopper bouncing, all students raced to cross the finish line.

Staff and Sports Leaders from Bede North came to lend a hand and support their respective house teams at the Delaval Sportsground or Bede South’s Astroturf. Mrs Harding said, “It’s been a fantastic week of sporting action with some brilliant performances from the children. They’ve all had a lot of fun and it was great to see so many families coming along to support them.” AN INTRODUCTION to some of the subjects available to Year 7.

French- I studied French at my primary school, although I only learned a few basic phrases: “Bonjour, Je m’apelle et je suis desole”. But at Bede I have already been able to expand my range, I can now fluently ask my teacher essential requests in perfect French. I look forward to being able to develop my French, as one day I would love to visit the historic nation.

History- At primary school we only studied history as it was linked to our topics. At Bede we are able to have a full lesson dedicated to history! This year we will look at the Norman conquest of Britain. I’m fascinated to investigate how Britain was established into the country we know and love today.
