Main hit 18 goals in Ryt easy victory

STORMONT Main made easy work of Ryton and Crawcrook in the Bob Curry Cup, winning 18-0.

Liam McVicar scored five times with Joe Joyce, Danny Young and Brandon Lawther all hitting trebles.

The scoring was completed with goals from Liam Graham, Ryan French, Ricky Kane and Brandon Tiplady.

Division One side Saltwell SC were 3-1 winners at Premier Division side Highwayman.

Counters from Riccardo Tanoh, Zadjo Kendjo and Martin Baker saw Saltwell through. Jak Williams replied for Highwayman.

Another Division One team, Holmesid,e knocked out their Premier Division opposition prevailing 3-2 against Sheriff Hill Three Tuns.

Strikes from Carl Foster, Brett Dodds and Ben Hall all counted for Holmeside, replies from Chris Gosnell and Gary Watson in vain for The Tuns.

Thomas Wilson defeated Blue Star 6-1 with Mark Burns and Neil Davison netting two each.

Also on target for The Wilson were Ricky Fenwick and Jordan Fraser. Robert Houghton claimed Blue Star’s consolatio­n.

There was an eleven-goal clash between Nursery House and Birtley The Hanlon.

Two from David Reay and one each from George Foster, Paul Garthwaite and David Boyle were not enough for Nursery as Adam Berry notched four, Callum Turnbull and Alex Nicholson also registerin­g for Hanlon in their 6-5 victory.

Crawcrook Albion opened the scoring against Gateshead Three Tuns through Alistair Wilson before being pegged back by Jak Charleswor­th.

Thomas Lippeat then put Albion in front again with a longdistan­ce effort, but again The Tuns equalised courtesy of a finish from Rhys Jukes.

However, a Niall Codling penalty won the game 3-2 to see Albion go into the next round.

A1 Allerdene opened the scoring against Whickham Bay Horse with a great free-kick from George Gordon.

Bay Horse hit back before halftime through Lewis McKie.

Ryan Cowan then struck for Bay Horse but Louis Tiplady equalized for Allerdene. Efforts from Reece Boyd and James Mason sent the Whickham side into the hat as they won 4-2.
