Notorious Tyneside family are set to say a sad farewell to tragic Joanne, 45

FUNERAL IS TO BE HELD FOR SISTER FOUND DEAD AT HOME

LOVED ones of tragic Joanne Sayers are preparing to say their final goodbyes.

The sister of the notorious Sayers brothers John Henry and Stephen was found dead at home last week, she was aged just 45.

Joanne’s funeral will be held at Newcastle’s West Road Crematoriu­m on Thursday.

A notice, placed in the Chronicle, describes Joanne as: “Dear daughter of John and the late Margaret.

“Much loved sister of Margaret. Loving sister-in-law of Joe. Treasured Auntie of Sarah and Joseph. Dearest granddaugh­ter of Sid and the late Doris. Sorely missed by Ann.”

The notice invites friends and family to meet for the service at 2.45pm on Thursday.

It adds: “Much loved and never forgotten.”

Joanne was found dead at her home in Fenham in Newcastle’s West End on Halloween.

Police were called to the house, on Hadrian Road, but her death is not being treated as suspicious.

Joanne and said his family is devastated at the loss of his sister.

He said: “The news that our sister Joanne Sayers has passed away came as a shock to us all. She led a quiet life and kept herself to herself. She has been taken from us too soon. “Others posted tributes online. One friend said: “R.I.P Joanne, devastated to hear such sad news. You were a true friend and will live in my heart forever.”

The Sayers earned a reputation as one of the North East’s most notorious underworld families.
