Nissan bargains to be had

- By STEVE HUGHES

NISSAN is knocking a whopping £3,500 off some models and introducing free finance in a bid to boost sales.

Motor manufacturers are being hit by falling demand for some models, due to the uncertainty surrounding Brexit and the demonisation of diesels.

Nissan’s drastic action is to offer deposit contributions of up to £3,500 in addition to free finance and cutprice servicing deals.

The PCP offers apply across the range and will run unto early next year.

The Qashqai is offered on a PCP from £190 a month over three years with free finance based on a customer deposit of £7,140.

Alternatively, there is a 5% finance deal, which includes a Nissan deposit contribution of £750 plus a two-year servicing package for just £250.

The Qashqai recently received an alternative 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine, with outputs of 140bhp and 160bhp to achieve a CO2 rating from 121g/km plus 50mpg economy.

There is also a new seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission, which is the first time such a transmission has been used in a Nissan volume model.

The best-selling electric vehicle in the UK in 2018, the Nissan LEAF is offered for £360 a month via a 6% finance deal over three years with a customer deposit of £6,290. This offer attracts a Nissan deposit contribution of £500.

The Juke is up for grabs from £180 a month with free finance and a customer deposit of £5,920. The alternative is a 4% finance deal that includes a Nissan deposit contribution of £1,975.

There is also the offer of two-year’s servicing for £250.

The little Micra city car costs from £150 a month over three years with free finance and a deposit of just £3,000. It also comes with the twoyear service offer.

Alternatively, those needing a lower deposit can put down £195 and pay £195 a month over four years at 4%.

The Navara pick-up attracts a deposit contribution of £2,500, albeit with a finance rate of six per cent over two years, or free finance over three years with a customer deposit of £11,667.

The most generous offer is a deposit contribution of £3,500 towards the cost of the sporty Nissan GT-R via a three-year PCP at a rate of 6%, which works out at £700 a month. The three-year servicing deal costs £900 for this high-powered supercar.

Somewhat more affordable is the Nissan 370Z sports model, which is on offer with free finance over three years at a monthly cost of £240 plus a customer deposit of £7,650.

Alternatively Nissan will contribute £3,500 towards a three-year finance deal at a rate of 6%, with servicing costing £370 over the finance period.

Nissan’s North East-made Qashqai remains the UK’s fourth best-seller with sales so far this year of 45,000.
