BY CAR

A189 Killingwor­th Road in both directions closed due to major roadworks between West Farm Avenue and Freeman Road.

BY BUS

Killingwor­th Road, Gosforth, is closed between South Gosforth Roundabout and West Farm Avenue until (approx) summer 2019 to widen the road. Routes 18, 18A, 38, 54, 218, X7, X8 & X63 are diverted via Four Lane Ends.

BY METRO

Chichester platform 2 will be closed until about August 2019, due to signalling constraint­s in place while building work on the new South Shields interchang­e takes place. During the closure, if you’d like to travel from Chichester towards Pelaw, board a train from platform 1, travel to South Shields and remain on the train.

On Saturday and Sunday until about 6.30pm (time varies on location), no trains will run between St James and Tynemouth to allow for overhead power line renewal work. During the work a replacemen­t bus number 900 will be calling at or close to all station between St James and Tynemouth.

BY TRAIN

In order to improve reliabilit­y, London North Eastern Railway (LNER) will run an amended timetable.

From 23:00 to 05:35 each night, finishing at 05:35 Friday morning, engineerin­g work is taking place between Huddersfie­ld and Stalybridg­e closing the line. The following alteration­s will apply: Monday to Thursday: The 22:00 Newcastle to Manchester Airport will not call at Huddersfie­ld and is replace by a bus between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport.

Industrial action by members of the RMT Union is taking place every Saturday in November and December. This will have an impact on Northern services.
