Victory looks a Dun deal for Swailes’ men

-

NORTHERN League Division One leaders Dunston UTS are heavy favourites to claim all three points from their trip to struggling Seaham Red Star.

Chris Swailes’ side remain unbeaten in the league and have won 13 of their 15 games so far this season.

By contrast, their hosts have claimed just 10 points from a possible 48 and sit second from bottom in the table.

Dunston have two key players missing for the game at the Ferguson Motor Repairs Stadium as an injury rules out defender Craig Scott and midfielder Michael Pearson is suspended.

Red Star could hand a start to former Dunston striker Dan Wilson after he was named as a substitute in their 7-2 defeat at Consett last weekend.

The Steelmen lie in second place after that win and only have injured midfielder Dan Hawkins missing for their home game against Ashington.

The Colliers have been dealt a triple injury blow as Jake Turnbull, Kyle Downey and Jay Hornsby will all miss the game at Belle View.

Paul Chow and Louis Storey have been ruled out of Hebburn Town’s trip to North Shields and long-serving defender Callum Anderson is a major doubt for Whitley Bay’s game at Ryhope CW.

Newcastle Benfield have no major injury concerns as they prepare to host West Auckland Town at Sam Smith’s Park.

Whickham are boosted by the return of defender Matthew Grive and midfielders Ross Peareth and Matty Pattison as they target a third consecutive win in their home game against Newton Aycliffe.

A suspension has ruled captain Greg Swansbury out of Sunderland RCA’s game at Stockton Town.

Shildon will look to bounce back from their FA Vase exit at the hands of RCA when they travel to Cumbria to face Penrith.

Bishop Auckland will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run to nine games when they take on Guisborough Town at the KGV Stadium.

Suspended winger Lewis Burns is the only absentee from Heaton Stannington’s squad as the Division Two promotion-chasers entertain Willington at Grounsell Park.

Former Toon academy midfielder Shane Donahgey is a major doubt for West Allotment Celtic’s game at Washington.
