NEW Year’s Eve celebrations are not just for the grown-ups – and a top Newcastle attraction is ensuring that young ones will be able to thoroughly enjoy the party spirit too.

Seven Stories in the Ouseburn Valley is inviting children to Party Around The World this New Year’s Eve and welcome in 2019 with a whole host of entertainment.

It will be saying goodbye to 2018 and welcoming in the new year with events on December 30 and 31 which will be “filled to bursting”, say organisers, with parties, themed story times and crafts. The national centre for children’s books, whose attractions include an archive of work by children’s writer and local favourite David Almond, will also help youngsters explore when and how New Year traditions are celebrated the world over.

And, as the customs are universally designed to bring luck and good fortune in the coming year, that means there will be plenty fun – suitable for all the family – to mark the occasion. Party sessions lasting 45 minutes will be held at 11.30am on the Sunday and 2pm on both days and the cost is £5 per person, for both children and adults.

There’s no charge for general admission, which normally applies at the venue, where current exhibitions include Where Your Wings Were – Journeys with David Almond.

For tickets, visit www. sevenstories.org.uk or call 0300 330 1095.
