Is this taking back control from EU?
MRS May has been travelling the country trying to whip up enthusiasm for her Brexit deal. Apparently, she put the deal to the people because she knows not enough MPs are convinced to vote for it.
She needn’t travel to see me. She could just ask me to go out and vote to find out what I think of the deal, and her handling of the negotiations.
They have taken too long, because she demanded the impossible. She set herself up to represent only the narrow Brexit majority, not the whole country (yet now has the temerity to claim to represent the national interest).
She antagonised those in Europe she was negotiating with, at the behest of the strident nationalists and their lackeys in the Press. She has ended up with a dog’s breakfast of fudge, indecision, and uncertainty that will leave us worse off.
While millions have been spent on sharp-suited and sharp-elbowed consultants and Liam Fox’s air fares, our local councils cannot help young victims or senior citizens in need, the Police don’t have enough resources to investigate crime, housing policy is only serving to pay huge bonuses to fat cats, and public transport outside London is barely functional or non existent.
She thinks this is taking back control. It feels more like taking both eyes off the ball and finding you have scored an own goal.
