mendous atmosphere in West Yorkshire - belting out their own blackand-white renditions of some Christmas classics.

When asked if the players had joined in the fun by handing over three Premier League points, Diame said: “I hope it was! They deserve that but for us it was just a good result away.

“It was a tough game, not because of the conditions, but because Huddersfield were very much on top of us. “The second half they tested us too. “We did what we have in the last three years. “We stayed together, we fought and we stayed compact. “We made sure in that situation we did not concede a goal.

“Now I want all the lads to start focusing right now on the next game against Fulham because there is no point beating Huddersfield away and then losing to Fulham next week.

“We must make sure we win at home at the weekend.”

Bottom-placed Fulham will travel north knowing failure to bag three points would put them 10 points behind the Magpies.

Diame said: “It is another final but a really important one for us.

“If we can achieve that this weekend it will be amazing as we will be on 19 points.

“Just before Christmas, that would be very nice.”

I am happy because I am playing and if I am playing and doing well, Newcastle will extend my contract
