Should young be happy with EU?

-

ANONYMOUS Writer from Gosforth did not like the result of the referendum and is trying every feeble excuse to overturn it including giving only the young mostly inexperienced ones the say in another referendum.

May I firstly point out that many 50-year-olds may still only be halfway through their life so the future is just as important to them.

Brexiteers voted to leave the EU for a variety of reasons but no remainer has ever given a valid reason to stay.

So, all you young people, which of the following reasons do you have for wanting to stay?

1. You do not believe in the long established parliamentary system in this country and would rather be ruled by an unelected, corrupt, vastly overpaid and mainly unknown clique in Brussels/Strasbourg?

2. You are happy for an ever

increasing trade deficit with the EU and the continued movement of jobs from this country.

3. You are happy for a never ending flow of EU residents to come here and take what jobs are on offer.

4. You are happy to accept all rules made up by the EU even if you don’t like them.

5. You are happy for European judiciary to overturn any decision made by our courts.

6. You just love paying VAT (unless you can find a way to dodge it) which was imposed and is still directed by the EU.

7. You are happy for net billions of pounds going to the EU each year when, yes, some of it could go towards funding for the NHS.

8. The EU is planning compulsory conscription to the armed forces. If you are in favour of this why not just join our own forces like many brave youngsters do?

9. You want to stay because your favourite Pop star or showbiz personality (most of whom are clueless on the subject) say so.

10. You do not want the price of your Audi, BMW or Mercedes to go up, because they are crashing the UK car industry. BRIAN TAYLOR,
