BY CAR

A189 Killingworth Road in both directions closed due to major roadworks between West Farm Avenue and A191 Benton Park Road.

A194 Newcastle Road in both directions closed due to roadworks from Elswick Way to B1302 Hudson Street.

BY BUS

Killingworth Road, Gosforth, is closed between South Gosforth roundabout and West Farm Avenue until about summer 2019 to widen the road. Routes 18, 18A, 38, 54, 218, X7, X8 & X63 are diverted via Four Lane Ends.

A184 Newcastle Road will be closed overnight between Testos roundabout and Abingdon Way today and tomorrow. The closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am for works in connection with the major scheme at Testos junction.

BY METRO

Chichester platform 2 will be closed until about August 2019, due to signalling constraints in place while building work on the new South Shields interchange takes place. During the closure, if you would like to travel from Chichester towards Pelaw, board a train from platform 1, travel to South Shields and remain on the train. Anyone wishing to leave the train at Chichester after travelling from South Shields should stay on the train to Tyne Dock, change platforms and return to Chichester platform 1.

BY TRAIN

Engineering work is taking place at various points on the TransPennine Express network, closing some lines overnight. As a result the following trains will be amended: Monday to Thursday: The 21:00 Newcastle to Liverpool Lime Street service will be diverted to terminate at Manchester Piccadilly. A replacement bus will run between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street. The 22:00 Newcastle to Manchester Airport service will be diverted and will no longer call at Manchester Victoria. Tuesday to Friday: The 04:22 Manchester Airport to Newcastle service will depart Manchester Piccadilly later, at 04:46. The 05:03 Manchester Airport to Newcastle service will depart Manchester Piccadilly later, at 05:23. This train will be diverted, and will not call at Manchester Victoria. The 05:20 Liverpool Lime Street to Newcastle service will depart earlier than usual, at 05:07. This train will be diverted, and will not call at Lea Green, Newton-le-Willows or Manchester Victoria. The train will make additional stops at Manchester Piccadilly and Stalybridge.
