POEM OF THE DAY

- KENNETH MOOD

Snow Upon Snow

Snow upon snow

Take care, take care

We all know

How dangerous snow can be It can break branches And bring traffic to a halt

Snow upon snow

We watch it fall

The snowflakes fall beside the lamp

I see the size and light

I think about people Driving in the night

Snow upon snow I wait for you to melt But now I sledge And take photographs And make footprints

Snow upon snow Here you are Deep and thin Like a glass jar

You are hard and cruel I wait for sunshine And enjoy the fruits Of the Holy Spirit And the supernatural
