Playing with cult hero is Adam’s dream come true

-

ADAM Radwan admits he is living the rugby dream for Newcastle Falcons as he lines up alongside one of his sporting icons, Sinoti Sinoti.

Radwan is the Falcons’ top try-scorer this season with the 21-year-old touching down five times in six games during the club’s unbeaten start to the season, a run which they hope to extend on Sunday when they host Coventry.

But simply being on the same field as Sinoti is reason enough for the North Yorkshire-born flyer to be cheerful, Radwan explaining: “Sinoti is one of my rugby heroes, and honestly it’s such a privilege just be around the guy. Even just the way he makes you laugh all the time, you feel better for being near him. He’s so positive, and you can’t fail to have a smile on your face when he’s about.”

Samoan international Sinoti passed the century mark for Falcons appearances in their last home outing against Jersey, with his unorthodox playing style making him a cult hero among North East rugby supporters.

“It’s weird in a way because I used to watch Sinoti playing on TV, and never in a million years did I think I’d ever be in the same team as him,” said Radwan, who played his junior rugby with Middlesbrough before moving to Billingham and Darlington Mowden Park. He’s an even better bloke than he is a rugby player, if that’s possible, and he really goes out of his way to help me at every opportunity.

“The way he plays is so unique and I don’t think anyone is ever going to replicate him, but he has so much to teach me when it comes to the evasion stuff and just to pick his brain about certain situations.”
