Please keep all those donations coming in

-

WE’D like to start this week by saying a huge thank you to everyone who has dropped off donations for our animals.

Your support is always very much appreciated but especially so at this time of year. We are still in need of blankets, duvets, dog toys, cat toys and anything else to help keep our animals entertained.

Grain-free dog food and kitten food are other supplies that we are in need of. Donations can be dropped off at either of our shelters or charity shops.

If you are dropping donations off at our Benton shelter, why not pop in and have a look around while you’re here.

We have lots of lovely animals looking for homes, like Marmaduke who is one of our longest term dogs.

Why not consider adopting if you are thinking of adding a new family member?

Our friendly reception team will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. We’re open Monday to Friday 1pm until 6pm and Saturday and Sunday 12pm until 5pm.

We’ve had lots of amazing reviews from people about our coffee shop, Pawfect Cuppa which is based at our Benton shelter.

The opening hours for Pawfect Cuppa are the same as our Benton shelter. There are always plenty of yummy cakes, savoury snacks, speciality drinks and cold drinks to choose from. Every purchase you make in there helps us to look after the thousands of animals we receive each year.

It is now into the two-week countdown for this year’s Christmas Market. Don’t forget to book Thursday 28th November in your diaries from 3pm until 8pm as that is when our Christmas Market will be taking place at Benton North Farm, Benton Lane, NE12 8EH.

You could to pop in after the school run, work or even when you’ve picked the whole family up. Dogs are welcome too so bring your furry friends

along to join in the festive fun. There will be lots of stalls for you to look at and buy from as well as Santa’s Grotto for the kids. Entry is £1 for adults, kids go free.

Animals for homes:

Marmaduke, dog number 662, is a great dane/lurcher crossbreed approximately seven years old and he arrived with us in April 2019.

Marmaduke is a true gentle giant even though he can be vocal when you approach him but this is just his way of getting your attention.

He loves attention and having a fuss made about him. Marmaduke will need a decent sized garden home with a good garden to stretch his long legs in. He would benefit from a home with experience of large breeds and someone who has a lot of time for him.

Rab, dog number 700, is an English bull terrier crossbreed who is approximately seven years old and he arrived with us in April 2019.

Rab is a very happy, vocal dog who will give you a shout when you approach. Rab would be best suited in an adult only home without other animals as he can be a little boisterous when first meeting dogs.
