Gallagher goes Sturr crazy with hat-trick in Cup clash

HAZLERIGG Victory progressed in the Cramlington and District Sunday League’s Bob Sturrock Cup with a 6-1 victory at Brockwell Seam – Gallagher with a hat-trick.

Michael Chilton was also a hat-trick hero as Burradon and New Fordley triumphed 4-2 against North Shields Billy Mill in the Premier Division. ■■IN Division One of the Durham League, Grange Villa entertained Lumley Snooks Reserves and opened the scoring on 11 minutes through Ryan Smith.

Three minutes later, a ball into the area from Michael Brown saw Ben Jefferson slot home for 2-0.

The Villa added a third on 37 minutes thrugh Jefferson.

Snooks fought their way back into the game on 58 minutes, then scored again 11 minutes later.

Jack McRobbie notched the Villa’s fourth but Snooks netted again with eight minutes remaining to set up a nervous finish.
