Johnson showing how weak he is
BORIS Johnson is fortunate that, by sheer coincidence I’m sure, the decision to introduce the test, track and trace system before it is really fit for purpose (the Health Minister is getting excuses lined up in advance – “there may be bumps in the road”) has taken the spotlight off his embarrassing and inept performance in front of the Parliamentary Liaison Committee.
He is discovering that as a politician he can’t get away with the lies, falsifications and misinformation that he did as a journalist. Actually, calling him a journalist is an insult to that profession.
Johnson is not proving he is strong by not sacking Cummings, but showing he is weak by not getting rid of a high-profile individual who is setting a bad example at a crucial time in our fight against the coronavirus.
