SHARON TELLS MADONNA: RESPECT YOUR SELF(IE)!
DIVA Sharon Osbourne has gone after Madonna again – this time over the singer’s efforts to remain a sex symbol in her sixties.
The former X Factor judge feels Madge should act her age a little more and not behave like a twentysomething Instagram model stripping down to their underwear for selfies.
Sharon – wife of rocker Ozzy – felt the Material Girl deserved criticism after she posted raunchy lingerie selfies even though the 61-year-old artist boasts an “amazing body”.
Madonna, she said, feels the need to try to “compete” with younger social media selfie-obsessed females.
“I think she is a victim of her own ageism,” she said “She is a great artist. But you can see she likes to compete. So what all the other women are doing, she will do it too. She is right there.”
Sharon, who has often criticised Madonna, then cited Helen Mirren’s famous beach holiday bikini shots as a more natural approach to sex appeal.
It was an odd choice to use the actress to make her point given how often Dame Helen has used her sex appeal, appearing naked in movies throughout her career. Who needs misogyny when sisters are doing it for
themselves?
