WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY
OPENING FOR BUSINESS
A CORNWALL hotel is to open the UK’s first purpose-designed and built ‘socially distanced’ hotel restaurant.
Nicknamed ‘The Anti-Social Club’, the new dining concept at Rock’s St Moritz Hotel & Spa will consist of 16 private dining rooms, with a maximum of 96 covers and will ensure the two-metre rule and other health requirements are met at all times.
The summer pop-up restaurant has been designed to ensure the individual dining rooms are all accessed from outside, with the service function being provided from a central atrium, and all food and drink being delivered to the private dining rooms via a set of hatches.
St Moritz Hotel & Spa intends to reopen all the hotel rooms, self-catering apartments and villas, as well as launch the initial Anti-Social Club summer ‘pop-up’ restaurant on July 4.

SHOREFIELD Holidays has announced new socially distanced ‘getaways’ amid plans for reopening.
The family-run holiday park company has introduced a range of new measures such as contactless check-in and PPE for all housekeeping staff. Cleaning procedures have had a complete overhaul too, with increased sanitation, all linen being washed at 70°C and a new swab test system, which randomly tests four areas within each holiday home.
The self-contained modern holiday homes are no less than five metres apart, making them ideal for adhering to social distancing guidelines.
A three-night break in September costs £284 for a family of four staying in a two bedroomed luxury caravan. Visit shorefield.co.uk/getaways
