Bringing communities together to feed youngsters

WE at the Chronicle, Journal and ChronicleLive want to bring together the people and businesses wishing to help feed the North East’s hungry kids at this time.

Let us be clear: we are not saying businesses and councils should be the ones shouldering the burden of financially supporting children in poverty.

That requirement should fall squarely to our Government.

But our Government has said no, and in the ensuing 24 hours the North East has done what the North East does, and stepped up to the plate to tackle our challenges for ourselves.

We want to use our online, social media and print platforms to bring together these fantastic offers, publicise them so that families know about them, and give those behind them some richly deserved publicity.
