A MAN and woman seriously injured in a fatal crash are no longer fighting for life, writes SOPHIE DOUGHTY.

Lois Davidson lost her life when the Audi she was in with three other people crashed into a tree in Washington almost three weeks ago.

The driver and two other passengers were taken to hospital following the smash on the A194.

Police said the 35-year-old driver and a 26-year-old driver were in a critical condition following the collision, which happened at just after 10.30pm on Saturday, October 3.

However, while they remain in hospital, medics say their condition has since improved.

A 33-year-old man also injured in the collision was discharged from hospital in the days after the crash.

Emergency services were called after the silver Audi S3 crashed into a tree between the A195 and A182.

Lois, who was 27 and from Gateshead, was found dead inside the car. The cause of the collision is still being investigated by officers from Northumbria Police’s motor patrols unit.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101, quoting log 1088 031020.
