ABSOLUTE SWAMP THING BY ALAN MOORE: VOLUME 1

SOMETHING horrifyingly tempting has arrived ahead of Halloween.

Before he unleashed Watchmen on the world, Alan Moore was charged with revitalising DC’s horror comic antihero, Swamp Thing. The result was the criticallyacclaimed Absolute Swamp Thing, the first three volumes of which are republished in this gorgeous hardback collection. With new colouring, it ends at issue #20’s ‘Loose Ends’, the prelude to Swamp Things’ haunting origin story.

£80, but those lovely people at Forbidden Planet have it for £55.20.

STRANGER THINGS (HALLOWEEN SPECIAL ONESHOT)

SERIES 4 of the Netflix hit show may have been postponed until next year, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t get your Stranger Things hit this month. The special oneshot comic has been released just in time for the spooky season. Set six days before the beginning of season one, the story takes place on Halloween night in Hawkins, with Will, Mike, Lucas and Dustin trying to scare each other with a spooky story. But how will they fare when they discover the town’s deepest kept secret ... the Child Eater of Hawkins.

Stranger Things is out now priced £3.60.

DUNE HOUSE ATREIDES #1

THE film may have been delayed, but BOOM Studios has pushed on with the release of its new Dune comic.

Written as a prelude to Frank Herbert’s Dune, House Atreides has been adapted from the 1999 novel by its authors, Brian Herbert (son of Frank) and Kevin J. Anderson.

A tale of violence, ambition, corruption and intrigue, this brings to life the complex universe in which Dune exists beautifully.

Priced £4.50, Dune House Atreides #1 is out now.
