XIAOMI has revealed what could very well be the cheapest 5G smartphone available in the UK.

Its new line up of Mi 10T series phones starts at just £229 for the Mi 10T Lite – a smartphone that features a quad camera system with a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

The range also includes the high-end Mi 10T Pro (starting at £599) and the mid-range Mi 10T (starting at £469). These phones feature a 64MP main camera, a 13MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 5MP macro camera. Most impressively the units will be capable of capturing 8K video.

All three phones outdo themselves for specs given the price, and run Xiomi’s own MIUI 12 operating system, which is based on Android 10.

In addition to the phones, Xiaomi has also shown off its latest smartwatch – the Mi Watch. It does all the health tracking and exercise stuff you’d imagine, and Xiaomi claims it has a 16-day battery life on only a two-hour charge.

It’ll be out in December for an as-yet undisclosed price.

The Mi 10T Pro and the Mi 10 will be available on Monday, November 2, while the Mi 10T Lite will hit the market on Monday, October 26. Find out more at

YOU know when you’ve got a tune stuck in your head but you can’t remember what it’s called? Or even what the words are?

Google has now got a solution for that – and it’s called hum-tosearch. Available on the iOS and Android apps, all you need to do is open the search app and tap the mic icon – then say “what’s this song?”.

You can then just start humming into the mic and Google’s machine learning AI system will do the rest.

It’ll do its best to identify the song with the melody you’re humming, but given there’s a slight chance you might me a bit off key, it’ll identify the most likely options.

I’ve tried it and it certainly seems to hit the mark more often than not – but then, I am pretty good at humming...
