A healthy disgust for bungling PM Boris

-

IF Boris Johnson thinks he will ever be re-elected as Prime Minister he is living in ‘CloudCuckoo’ land as I have never come across such a bumbling ineffective leader.

His latest savage blow? To wreck Christmas for millions of people.

As he tried to grovel to the nation from another of the never-ending and boring Downing Street briefings, supported by the scientific wonders Messrs Vallance and Witty – are they really Covid clairvoyants? – Johnson said he is sacrificing this Christmas to preserve those in the future.

Doesn’t he realise for many older relatives this could be their last Christmas?

I wonder if this bumbling, ineffective and, for me, failure as a Prime Minister is fit to say: “As night follows day we will beat back this new virus and reclaim our lives.”

Also, where do his equally faceless cabinet cronies stand in this latest catastrophic U-turn?

Health Secretary Matt Hancock is not worthy of the name as he failed to anticipate the virus, failed to stock up on PPE and embraced a test and trace system which largely failed despite grandiose promises about its likely performance, etc.

Most people don’t believe a word Hancock says as they arelargely inaccurate forecasts.

I am sure he sees himself as an heir apparent to Johnson but I also include the suave Chancellor Rishi Sunak in the same bracket.

He is seemingly one of the most popular politicians and will remain so as long as he keeps going furlongs with furlough but probably wasting billions of pounds.

I conclude with President Trump’s earlier inane forecast that the virus would be “over by Easter” and Johnson not attending pre-virus meetings – both could be responsible for millions of deaths.

I really think there are buffoons on both sides of the Atlantic? Happy Christmas!
