Bruce praise for defender
STEVE Bruce has paid tribute to returning defender Paul Dummett after he came through his comeback game against Fulham with no fresh scrapes.
The left-back played in his first senior game since the 1-1 draw at Wolves in January after a series of setbacks and hamstring problems.
Dummett was ready to play in July after the lockdown but was not registered and then picked up a fresh injury in pre-season. Bruce said: “Paul has had a really difficult time but I have to say well done to him because he has worked with the setbacks.
“He played in the under-23s and could not shake off this niggle of a hamstring injury off.
“All credit to him, he has done remarkably well.
“He has lived right and he did everything he possibly could to play against Fulham.”
