Jesper takes on strategic role at Heed
GATESHEAD have made another key addition to their backroom operation.
The Vanarama National League North outfit has created a new strategic role.
Experienced campaigner Martin Jesper has joined the Tynesiders as Executive Advisor to the Board.
It completes a hat-trick of North East clubs for Jesper, who has held similar roles at both Darlington and Hartlepool.
Jesper spent three years at Darlington and a short period at Hartlepool after a spell over the border at Hearts.
He will now offer guidance and support to the Gateshead board to aid the club’s long-term vision.
This will involve the strategic, operational, commercial and stakeholder management activities.
Jesper’s arrival follows the appointment of Kane Wears as Academy manager and James Rushmore as communications and marketing development officer.
Chairman Neil Pinkerton is delighted to add another piece to the Heed jigsaw.
He said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome such a highcalibre individual during what is a significant period in our growth.
“He will undoubtedly prove to be an invaluable asset as we begin to develop our long-term aims and realise our short-term goals.”
That will include promotion back to the top flight of non-league football.
Jesper said: “The long-term vision for the club must focus on sustainability.
“That means not just focusing on results on the pitch – creating a club, not just building a team.”
