Four delighted Darlington residents net £30k each
Four lucky residents of Foxglove Close, Darlington, won £30,000 each with People’s Postcode Lottery when their postcode, DL1 3FB, was announced as a winner.
Daniel Ashenden, 34, was one of the winners. Funnily enough, Daniel had played a trick on his wife Laura just a few weeks before, pretending they had won £30,000.
Daniel said: “I pranked Laura, telling her we’d won – she fell out with me and didn’t speak to me all day. When I rang her this time and said we’d really won, she didn’t believe me!”
The couple have been married for two years and are planning to buy a new house. Laura said: “We’ve been saving for a deposit for our forever home so this win has made our lives – it would have taken us years to save this amount.”
Daniel added: “I’d love to use the money to go back to Canada. We spent our honeymoon there.”
Another winner, Helen Stephenson, 39, was equally excited when she found out she’d won £30,000.
When asked what she’d spend the money on, Helen said:
“Holidays, clothes and more holidays. I’d love to go to Australia and now it’s paid for. I love my holidays!”
Two other neighbours also won £30,000 cash prizes.
