Heads ‘face burden’
HEADTEACHERS should be released from the burden of running the test and trace system for Covid-19 cases to help prevent “an exodus” of school leaders, a union has said.
Since September, some heads have spent 100 hours or more on identifying cases in their schools and notifying contacts they need to self-isolate, according to the NAHT union. The pandemic has put extreme pressure on school leaders and they have been given limited training and advice, the union said.
