Ditch PCCs and use funds productively

-

MS McGuinness, on re-election last week, said she was really proud of her record as police and crime commissioner (PCC) and would work hard to make a difference.

Well, on a salary of £86,700 and with a team of 10 permanent staff with an annual cost of £461,834 she certainly is making a difference.

I have yet to see any evidence as to how this role has had the desired effect on the Northumbria Police force apart from taking well-needed funding away from our emergency services. It’s high time this role was abolished and the money used more productively.
