BUILDING SET TO OFFER WORKERS FABULOUS CITY VIEWS

A BUILDING is boasting some of the best office views ever seen in Newcastle city centre – nine months before it has even been completed.

Stunning new images have been issued by the designers behind the Bank House office scheme, the 14-storey office block rising from the ground on the site of the demolished Bank of England building in Pilgrim Street.

The new CGIs by Ryder Architecture show how businesses that move into the upper floors will have 360-degree views across Tyneside, including different aspects of the Tyne Bridge, river and Quayside quarter.

The joint letting agents for the building – Avison Young and Knight Frank – say there has already been lots of interest from potential tenants, but they expect interest to step up a gear after officially launching their marketing plan for the building.

Bank House is the first building set to be completed as part of the £100m-plus development transforming Newcastle city centre.

Billionaire real estate entrepreneurs Reuben Brothers are behind the huge project to build the landmark office block, which has moved into the final stages of construction with nine months left until completion.

In all, the office will provide 120,000 sq ft of Grade A offices across 12 floors. The ground floor will comprise a 4,500 sq ft reception area, with informal breakout space and a cafe with easy access to nearby shops, restaurants and leisure amenities for the hundreds of workers who will be based there from 2023.

Tony Wordsworth, director at Avison Young, said: “Bank House will offer market-leading office accommodation for businesses looking to invest in our region as well as North East occupiers keen to invest in their workplace.

“Given its scale and build quality, it will be a significant addition to the city’s office market, at a time when organisations are reviewing how their workplaces support their objectives.

“We are seeing a lot of interest from occupiers attracted by the building’s prominence, unique outlook and energy efficiency credentials.

“There is a real war for talent in many sectors, particularly in professional services, and the workplace has a huge part to play.”

Last summer Taras Properties – the development vehicle set up on behalf of the Reuben Brothers – secured planning permission for two further office buildings totalling 275,000 sq ft that will be developed adjacent to Bank House to complete Pilgrim Place, the southern phase of the Pilgrim Street masterplan.
