MERC’S EQS SPROUTS AN SUV SIBLING

Mercedes is following on from its all-electric EQS luxury saloon with this new SUV, badged logically as the EQS SUV.

Like the saloon it boasts a vast amount of technology and also shares the same hardware.

At launch it will have a 107.8kwh battery and the choice of three different powertrains.

The entry level car will be the EQS 450 with a single electric motor and rear-wheel drive with a maximum range of 410 miles.

There’ll also be a dual motor version that’ll be called the 450 4Matic, and above that a EQS 580 4Matic producing 536bhp.

There are no prices available yet but the car goes on sale here towards the end of the year.
