THE ASS IN THE LION’S SKIN

An Ass put on a Lion’s skin

(He saw that lions always win). His hair was like a Lion’s mane. He thought he’d make political gain

From the Lion of Ukraine,

And, through him, he could restore

His flagging fortunes – through his war.

So he reminded everyone Of what his country once had done

In their famous “FINEST HOUR” When it resisted a world-power. He thought he’d be the leader who

Helped his country to win through

But he gave himself away – He couldn’t roar but only bray.
