Wilson is back in training as return draws closer
ENGLAND striker Callum Wilson has revealed he is back in training ahead of Newcastle’s trip to Manchester City this weekend.
The Magpies’ number nine has been sidelined since the 1-1 draw with Manchester United back in December but is still the Toon’s top goal scorer with six goals.
Former Bournemouth star Wilson has been working hard to return to action before the end of the campaign and believes he is now fit enough to do so.
Newcastle have two tough games against City and then Arsenal on the horizon before finishing the campaign at Burnley, who could be fighting for survival.
Wilson posted a video of himself on social media earlier this week showing him in training and he is glad to be back on the training pitch.
The £20million forward said: “I am fully charged now. I think the social media post was a little subtle indication I am back without saying I am back. It was a little reel of my goals and stuff like that.
“It was more for myself for personal use but it was quite good and I thought I would share it with my followers. I am back now training, so it has been a good week.
“It has been a long time coming but we are there!”
