POEM OF THE DAY

- By George Mclanders

THE ROAD AHEAD

Our children seldom worried of the road ahead

And how peacefully they sleep tucked up in bed

On getting older they tend to think and smoulder

And vent their problems on a parent’s shoulder

Yes, we do try to shape our children’s lives

Preparing them to be good husbands and wives

Eventually they leave the comfort of the parents’ home

To marry and start a family of their own

Soon grandchildren come along And as usual they have to be taught right from wrong

Our tasks as parents are now almost complete

And yes, our bank balance is now almost deplete
