Councillor should focus on his ward

PLEASE can the letters page spare us the almost daily pontifications of local labour councillors,especially those of Councillor Rob Higgins.

I visited his Benwell and Scotswood ward recently and I could not believe the amount of litter, graffiti and general detritus.

Councillor Higgins should spend all his time improving his ward and spare us his party political diatribes on the letters pages. I am sure there are plenty of letters from ordinary members of the public that would fill the valuable print space rather than the Labour hacks!
