No move on loan keeper – manager

-

EDDIE Howe has responded to talk that Newcastle United are close to signing Dean Henderson.

The goalkeeper was strongly linked to a season-long loan move this week but the Manchester United shot-stopper remains at Old Trafford.

Howe once again publicly backed Martin Dubravka ahead of the clash with Burnley but it remains to be seen whether he gives Karl Darlow a chance this weekend.

When asked about Henderson, Howe said: “We’re not close to signing anyone at this moment in time. That’s far from the truth.”

Howe must now turn attentions to Turf Moor. A victory for Newcastle could see them bank a top-10 finish.

Howe said: “There is no let up. “We want to finish on a high.”

Burnley host Newcastle knowing they will survive if they can match Leeds United’s result against Brentford.
