Leaders are Street ahead of Whitburn

WHITBURN opted to bat first when they played host to Chester-le-street in the Dukes North East Premier League’s Premier Division.

Lee Henderson hit 42 not out but had little support from his team mates as Whitburn were all out for 117 in 41.4 overs.

John Harrison (3-30), Quentin Hughes (3-24) and Hedley Windows (3-8) did the damage.

Leaders Chester-le-street made short work of their task, reaching 118-1 in 23.2 overs.

South North made a poor start at Tynemouth until Nikhil Gorantla changed their fortunes with 103.

Adam Cragg added 69, helping them to a final score of 216-8 declared in 53 overs.

Tynemouth struggled in response and were all out for 105 in 39.3 overs - Lee Crozier with 3-32.

Hetton Lyons posted 159-9 at home to Ashington, Cameron Nichols with 4-31.

Ashington took 34.2 overs to reach 160-5 - Ben Harmison (right) hitting 48 not out.

Felling were asked to bat first by visitors Catle Eden and Travis Norris totalled 98 in their 228-9 declared - Alan Unsworth with 3-59.

Castle Eden ended on 132 all out after 49.2 overs, Sebastian Allison claiming 4-29.

Burnmoor reached 184-9 in 46 overs against Burnopfiel­d, Karl Turner getting them off to a great start with 100 not out.

Matthew Oswell registered 4-48 and Finlay Mcgurk 5-35.

Burnopfiel­d’s David Seymour (75) led their response, John Oswell adding 61 not out in their winning total of 185-5.

Sunderland remain top of Division One despite going down to local rivals Washington.

The home side had Ludo Williams to thank for his 37 runs and Thomas Colledge’s 32, to get them up to 144 all out.

The Ashbrooke team only made 137 all out in reply as Mark Watson and Niall Cutter shared eight wickets between them.

Sacriston plied up the runs at Shotley Bridge, amassing 271-9 thanks to Solomon Bell with an impressive 117 from 101 balls, which included 18 fours and two sixes. In reply, Shotley managed 203-9
