Service is key as Isak chases 20

-

NEWCASTLE United striker Alexander Isak admits that he has spoken with his team-mates about the quality of service into the final third,

The £63million man has 21 Newcastle goals to his name this term and has six games left to add to that tally as he looks to make it a season to remember.

Not since Alan Shearer’s days has a striker reached the 20 goals margin in a top-flight season with Isak sitting on 17 goals in the Premier League so far this term.

The Sweden international is confident that he will add to his tally in the run-in, but knows he is relying on his team-mates to gel.

Isak said: “We have spoken about being more precise with our passes, because Tottenham had a high line so if we have good passes we can hurt them in behind. The service against Spurs was incredible.

“Playing football is really fun at the moment, especially when we have days like this (Spurs).

“When the fans are like they are always when we play at home, it feels like we are so strong here.”

Newcastle will look to cement their place in Europe by seeing off Crystal Palace in midweek with Isak in the mood to bolster their place in the top six.

The striker said: “We know we can still achieve something this season and end it in a good way.

“We have a lot of energy and momentum now, have turned things around and it is just about keeping on going like this.”

Alexander Isak celebrates after scoring against Everton earlier this month – but the United hitman has urged his team-mates to be ‘more precise’ with their service
