A BODY has been found in the search for a missing 19-year-old.

Reagan Brown, from Hexham, was last seen in Newcastle on the evening of Monday, May 6.

An extensive search was carried out for the teenager in the Leazes Park area of Newcastle city centre after she was reported missing.

Police divers and mountain rescue teams were seen in the area as officers appealed to the public for information.

The body was found on Wednesday afternoon. Reagan’s family were being supported, Northumbria Police said.

A spokesperson said on Wednesday: “A tragic update to share this evening – a body has sadly been found in the search for missing teenager Reagan Brown.

“Reagan, 19, from Hexham, was first reported missing from the Leazes Park area of Newcastle city centre on Monday evening. Extensive enquiries were carried out with support from partners agencies to locate her.

“However, sadly a body was found in Leazes Park this afternoon. Formal identification is yet to take place but Reagan’s next of kin have been notified and are being offered support.

“Our thoughts are with Reagan’s loved ones at this difficult time, and we would ask they are given privacy as they attempt to process this sad news.

“We’d like to thank those who helped with the search, as well as everyone who shared our appeal and provided information.”

Supt Kevin Waring added: “This is a tragic conclusion to our investigation. I would like to thank officers and partners who helped in the search for Reagan – as well as the wider public who shared our appeal and provided information to support our enquiries.”
