NORTHUM­BER­LAND have held their ESFA Danone Nations Un­der-11 Seven-aSide County Fi­nals.

The first night be­longed to Ov­ing­ham Mid­dle School, who over­came all the op­po­si­tion to be­come girls’ cham­pi­ons.

In the schools’ com­pe­ti­tion, Gos­forth Junior Acad­emy tri­umphed in the fi­nal to be cham­pi­ons for a sec­ond con­sec­u­tive sea­son.

Both teams will rep­re­sent Northum­ber­land in the com­pe­ti­tion’s north­ern re­gional round in the New Year.

■■IT is the turn of the Northum­ber­land as­so­ci­a­tion teams next Satur­day when they try to reach their ESFA Danone Nations In­ter – As­so­ci­a­tion Tro­phy north­ern re­gional round.

The ac­tion takes place at the Long­ben­ton Sports Ground, New­cas­tle Univer­sity (kick-off 9.00). ■■NORTHUM­BER­LAND Un­der-18s face Greater Manch­ester on Fri­day in the sec­ond round of the ESFA In­ter-County Tro­phy at Old­ham (5.00). ■■PRUD­HOE lead the way in the Un­der-19 County League af­ter de­feat­ing Monkseaton 4-1. Heaton Manor, in third place, have the same points tally as Monkseaton.
