The European Court of Human Rights ruled in favour of Nadia Eweida in her fight against British Airways for discrimination and being told not to wear her cross... The European Court decided that decisions of the UK Courts were within the ‘margin of appreciation’ (discretion) that it allows to national Courts - but in so doing it challenged many of the principles adopted by UK Courts and asserted by the British government, who asserted the cross was not a ‘legitimate manifestation of faith’... Bishop John Inge and Bishop William Godfrey of Peru renewed the special relationship, 21 years after it was first founded, by signing a new partnership agreement between the dioceses of Worcester and Peru at the weekend, at a meeting of the Bishop’s Council...
