Skin care that really works

-

Snow is brilliant, but surely it’s time for summer soon? If, like me, you’re counting down the days until the shine shines for long enough to mean we can take off the knitwear then fear not – I have found a brand that could help us.

Though it can’t promise warmth, Tropic Skin Care will remind you of everything that is good about summer – from the smell to the condition of your skin and hair.

Winter sucks the moisture out of you with the constant heating and bad weather, but this new, pure plant range is on hand to help soothe our skin.

Created by Susan Ma from The Apprentice and supported by Lord Alan Sugar, the credibility of the brand is assured. What’s more, every product is completely natural, completely vegan and completely promises to have never been tested on animals. Looking good has never felt so good!

Each product lists all ingredients in ‘plain English’, the site says, ‘so you don’t need a chemistry degree to understand exactly what you put on your skin’. But the truth, as they say, is in the pudding. So while being fairly convinced I was going to like these products, I thought I had better test them.

In the box were two, thick glass bottles nestled in straw. The heavy bottles of Organic Luxury Oil looked almost too good to use, but I pulled myself together and got to work. After placing the bottles in hot water to return their solidified contents to a silky liquid, I used the luxurious oil sparingly on the dry ends of my hair, skin or damaged nails.

Containing just eight ingredients, including Frangipani and Magnolia, this smells as good as it feels. Being blessed with fairly insensitive and relatively young skin though, I thought someone else had better check I wasn’t being blinded by the beautiful packaging and heavenly scent into giving this my seal of approval. So, I gave a bottle to the toughest reviewer I know: my Mum! Plagued with constant itching after showering and dry skin, this was the ultimate test.

I cannot begin to tell you the number of products my mother has tried – from Harley Street prescriptions to old wives tales – nothing seems to work. But, as I found out (too) early one morning when she woke me up to report back on Tropic Skin Care oil I had given her: this really does! Not only did it stop the itching but it moisturised and calmed her skin, too.

Whether you have skin problems yourself or just fancy a treat, this oil is worth a try. At £25 a bottle, this may be a little expensive to replace your usual moisturiser, but Valentine’s AND Mother’s Day are just around the corner... Start dropping hints today! You won’t regret it.
