Is this the sort of Church we want?
Sir, Serena Lancaster (9 May) lauds the Episcopal Church of America for having elected a non-celibate homosexual man to the office of Bishop after “prayerful deliberation”.
Surely your correspondent cannot be referring to the Church, currently riven by schism, that is estimated to have squandered huge amounts of its financial resources on persecuting its own Bible-believing members and whose leader (Presiding Bishop Katherine Jefferts Schori) now denies the divinity and atoning sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, and instead teaches that salvation “is through the divinization of humanity through the work of the human will”.
If this is the Church that your correspondent so appreciates then may heaven help us all.
