Weight loss

The Church of England - - LETTERS -

Sir, Regar ding Janey Lee Grace’s ar ticle (18 March). I feel I must write to comment on this ar ticle since I believe it gives a misleading impression.

If a person is over weight, their food intake exceeds the ener gy demands of their body . So there are two ways of correcting this imbalance — reduce your food intake with less ener gy-producing foods and use up mor e energy - ie exer cise more. This works. As one who has always been plump, I now am a correct weight for my age and height and have no dif ficulty in maintaining it.

Patricia Brown,
