Soldering kit

In order to attach nipples to wire cables, I have a few items.

First is a sharp pair of side cutters which are kept specially for this job, then there is the Venhill bird-cage punch kit, which has no other use than to make the ball at the end of the wire rope.

Thirdly is a stainless steel egg-cup, which serves as a solder pot.

Heated up with a blowtorch it is a simple matter to dip the cable end in the pot and ensure solder fills the nipple without running up the wire, which would cause problems a few months later.
