1927 Sunbeam Model 6

My Longstroke Sunbeam Model 6 was bought in late 2016. It wasn’t until I looked through the paperwork that I realised it was the same bike I’d viewed in my then home town about 15-odd years before, it’s £3000 price tag being way out of my reach. When I eventually acquired it, it cost three times more and had travelled about 100 miles away, to Lincolnshire (where I’d first seen it) with an RAF chaplain who’d acquired it in Wales and rebuilt it, as well as reclaiming the original Welsh registration number, which it still wears today. There’s little better in expenditure/experience balance; a side-valve Longstroke Beam won the 1922 Senior TT and my model is a direct descendent, at the fraction of the cost of an example of the type of Sunbeam which won the 1928 Senior TT.
