Recognising beautiful Beilstein
What a fascinating tale in the August edition about the two American motorcyclists who toured Great Britain and the continent. I recognised the location of the picture immediately as being a small village called Beilstein on the Mosel. The motorcyclists are on the west bank, probably at a camping area waiting for a chain ferry to take them to
Beilstein. Today, it is a lovely place to visit with good quality accommodation, excellent restaurants and wine bars serving local wine. Several one-make vehicle clubs have chosen Beilstein for weekend breaks as it is not far from the Nurburgring. My wife and I have visited there many times in the last 30 years.
