The Classic Motorcycle

Graham’s new exhibition

Between jaunts out on his OK Supreme, artist Graham Crowley – featured in our July/August 2019 editions – has created a body of artwork which pays homage to the motorcycle workshop.

Graham, former Professor of Painting at the Royal College of Art, lifelong TT fan and classic motorcycle collector, has long been fascinated by the parallels between the artistry of motorcycle engineering and that of painting.

Next month, the maverick will be exhibiting his collection of workshop paintings along with his 1935 JAP-powered OK Supreme OHV and a ‘work in progress’ 1929/53 JAP-Ariel sidevalve 750cc V-twin.

The exhibition, ‘Workplaces and Wildspaces,’ will also feature Graham’s speciallydesigned set of motorcycle stamps, which were commissioned by the Isle of Man Post Office in 2018.

The exhibition opens on May 27 at the Printroom Studio, Yew Tree Farm, Sweffling, Suffolk, IP17 2BU.
