Rodark panniers

-

Is there a current maker of Rodark panniers, or a near copy? I’d like a pair fitted to my 1955 Triumph Tiger 100, painted to match. Bob Stephenson, email.

To my knowledge, Rodark panniers, or copies of, aren’t in production today. They do turn up at autojumbles, in auction and on internet sites. In this case, I’d avoid buying from internet sites, as I’d want to give the panniers a thorough visual examination as repairing badly rusted, split or accidentdamaged examples to a high standard will be difficult and expensive, if not impossible in extreme cases.

Rather, I’d prefer to pay more for a sound set than purchase a cheaper pair needing much repair. Prices vary from £200 to £450 (ish) for decent examples and about a year ago, my son Peter bought a smart pair in black for £300.

Many come without fitting kits, but even if supplied with, you will/may need to adapt them for your Triumph, so it might be as easy to make your own kit.
