New heights for bike night

- Alan Turner.

The Sidcup & DMCC Bike Night took place at Canada Heights on July 1. Canada Heights, the Sidcup Club’s popular venue near the M25, is a centre for offroad competition and a constant work in progress to improve it.

Once a year, the club rings the changes with bike night. Turn up on two, three, or even four wheels and join numerous others wandering the lines of bikes on display in a great social event, catering included. Just about any variation on a motorcycling theme will be found on site, somewhere from vintage to modern, standard to special.

The fine, warm evening for the 2022 edition resulted in a record turn out comfortably in excess of 500 visitors. So many bikes to wander and ponder for the judge who decided some of the more outstanding examples warranted a trophy as a souvenir of the occasion.
